Counselors In Training fill out interest forms to inform the CIT directors of the activities they want to try, are nervous to try, and definitely don’t want to try. Based on these interest forms, the CIT directors schedule the teens to their activities of interest. CITs go through leadership curriculum and situational role play. This is a one week session is broken up into 5 one hour sessions.
Counselors In Training (CIT)
Our Counselor In Training (CIT) teen-leadership program helps teens develop valuable interpersonal, group-living, communication, organizational and team-building skills. CITs receive training in discipline, behavior management and communication skills. Our hands-on learning environment allows CITs to work into responsible roles as leaders, leading kids’ in summer camp activities.

Counselors In Training learn what to do in a cardiac, breathing or first aid emergency? With an emphasis on how to respond to common first aid emergencies, including burns; cuts; head, neck and back aches and more.
This session gives CITs the skills to save a life or properly bandage a skinned knee. All course options align with OSHA’s Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs and are given by a representative of the Red Cross . A digital certificate is issued upon successful course completion.
Module Three
Counselors In Training participate on an exploratory weekend at the camp. Working with camp staff members, they learn the camp routines, location of all cabins, lodges and facilities. CITs participate in many of the camp activities that they will lead during summer sessions and experience staying in the cabins. Time spent at the camp can be recorded as community service time for graduation requirements.
